Setting up the load distribution |
A Load Balancing Group needs to have been created before you can set up the load distribution.
Go to the Network->Load Balancing->Load Balancing Groups->New menu.
Network->Load Balancing->Load Balancing Groups->New
Proceed as follows:
Enter any Group Description such as, e.g. xDSL1/xDSL2 .
Under Distribution Policy select the process according to which the data are distributed, in this case Session-Round-Robin .
The two xDSL Internet accesses can then be added to this load balancing group.
To do so, click Add.
Network->Load Balancing->Load Balancing Groups->New->Add
Under Interface select the first xDSL access WAN_GERMANY - TELEKOM ENTERTAIN .
In Distribution Ratio enter the percentage of the data traffic to be assigned to an interface. It is 50 % in our example.
Click Apply.
Use Add to add the second xDSL line.
Network->Load Balancing->Load Balancing Groups->New->Add
Under Interface select the second xDSL access WAN_TELEKOM_XDSL2 .
When on Distribution Ratio enter 50 % .
Click Apply.
After this configuration step, the two Internet connections can be used with the load distribution.

Distribution ratios shall be adjusted accordingly in case of differing speeds on WAN routes or in case of a larger number of WAN routes involved in load distribution.
