Readme for system software 6.3.4 PATCH 15

The following changes have been made to our software since the release of system software 6.3.4 Patch 12. They have been included in system software 6.3.4 PATCH 15 which is available from BinTec's web server for all X-Generation Routers.


1) PPP - Interface Hangs After Connection Clear
   (ID 2989 / all products)
===============================================

After a PPP connection has been cleared by the ISP, the AdminStatus of the interface hangs in dialup state, and the OperStatus in dormant state if a Static Shorthold of "-1" has been configured (automatic reconnect). Therefore, the reestablishment of the connection is possible only after the interface has been reset and the router does not automatically reconnect. The problem does not occur with Static Shorthold of "0".

The problem has been solved.



2) SIF - Memory Leak with SIF
   (all products / 6.3.4)

When using a outher SIF Syslog Level than verbose , a memory leak may lead to a panic.

The problem has been solved.


3) NAT - No Free Ports for TCP Sessions
   (ID 2999 / all products / 6.3.4)
=======================================
After a certain time during which a great number of NAT sessions has been created, no further TCP connection an be initiated by the router.

The problem has been solved.


 
4) PPP Authentication - CLID and MS CHAP V2 Cannot be combined
   (ID 3008 / all products / 6.3.4)
===============================================================
WAN Partner authentication fails if CLID (Calling Line Identification) is configured together with MS CHAP V2. Non MS CHAP V2 authentication, however, can be combined with CLID.

The problem has been solved.
