Matching a New System Software and Bintec's BRICKware ----------------------------------------------------------- When updating your BRICK to a new version of the system software (boot-image), you should make sure to use the matching versions of the MIB- and Help-files. This ensures that you will be able to manage all new MIB-variables with the SNMP Configuration Manager, which is included in BinTec's BRICKware. There are two possible ways to proceed: a) You can download the most recent version of BRICKware from our WWW servers (ca. 25.6 MB of data in a self-expanding archive called "bw{version number}.exe"). Uninstall any BRICKware earlier than version 5.3.1 and install the new BRICKware. Versions later than 5.3.1 can be updated; uninstallation of the present installation is not necessary. b) You can update the MIB- and Help-files only (they are contained in a ZIP file called "dbmib.zip" which is 320 kb in size). Copy "dbmib.zip" into the BRICKware directory of your harddrive and extract it by typing pkunzip -e dbmib.zip in a command prompt (of course, you can use any Windows application which manages ZIP-files, too). The files DBROWSER.HLP and MIBFILE.WIN will be replaced with newer files from the ZIP.
